NFL Films

In 1962 Edwin Sabol alongside his son Steve Sabol established Blair Motion Pictures Company, which paid $3000 for the film rights of the 1962 NFL Championship Game at Yankee Stadium between the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers. 2 years later Edwin convinces the NFL that football can be preserved throughout history and well publicized through motion picture and the concept of NFL Films was created.  In 1965, NFL Films recorded more than 100 games during the season and has since filmed more than 9,000 games.

NFL films changed the way fans viewed all sports on television with the use of various aspects of cinematography. NFL Films was the first to use 600mm lens to record games and used montage editing which captures short shots put together in a fast-paced sequence in order to condense time.  Games were also filmed in slow motion on the ground level and NFL Films used reverse angle replays.

NFL Films is the most recognized filmmaker in Sports and in 1974 Road To The Super Bowl, the longest running sport special won an Emmy in 1979. NFL Films has won more than 100 Emmys nearly half of them from Steve Sabol who also was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. His father Edwin was inducted into NFL Hall of Fame for “exceptional long-time contribution to radio and television in professional football” in 1991.

En 1962 el Señor Edwin Sabol, junto con su hijo Steve Sabol, establecieron Blair Motion Pictures Company que pagó $3000 por los derechos  de la película del juego de campeonato  de la NFL en 1962 en el estadio de los Yankees entre los New York Giants y los Green Bay Packers.  2 años después Edwin convenció a la NFL que el  fútbol norteamericano  puede ser conservado en la historia y buen publicitado por películas y el concepto NFL Films comenzó. En 1965, NFL Films grabó más que 100 juegos durante la época y ha filmado más que 9,000 juegos desde que empezó.

NFL Films cambió la manera que los admiradores miraban los deportes en la televisión con el uso de varios aspectos cinematográficos. NFL Films fue el primero en usar lentes 600mm para grabar juegos y usar edición de montaje que es una técnica que usa tomas pequeñas juntas en un serie rápida para condensar el tiempo. Los juegos también fueron filmados en cámara lenta en sobre nivel y NFL Films utilizaron repeticiones de ángulo inverso.
NFL Films fue el cineasta más reconocido en los deportes  y el programa, Road To The Super Bowl, el  especial de deporte de más larga duración ganó el premio Emmy en 1979. NFL Films ha ganado más que 100  premios Emmy y casi  la mitad fueron para Steve Sabol que también fue adjudicado el premio a la trayectoria de vida en  el 2003. Su padre Edwin fue `exaltado en la Salón de la Fama por su contribución excepcional de largo tiempo para radio y televisión en  el fútbol norteamericano  profesional en 1991.
